From Angel City:
Avocado season is upon us in Southern California and Angel City Brewery is celebrating it as it does most things – with a party/ Angel City’s Avocado Festival will be held on August 24, from 1 to 7 pm. Brewer Dieter Foerstner will brew his 100th batch of beer in 2013 and guess what it will be? Yep, Avocado Ale, a guacamole inspired brew. Plus a whole roster of green goodness and messy fun.
The Avocado Ale, brewed with traditional guacamole ingredients, is just the latest original creation from Dieter. Since the start of 2013, he has produced a Pickle Weisse – a tart, light-bodied, straw-colored ale blended with pickles, White Nite – a nitrogenated, light-bodied golden ale with hints of chocolate and espresso, and the French Sip – playing off of the long-standing rivalry between Cole’s and Philippe’s the Original – the two Downtown institutions that both claim to have invented the French dip sandwich.
