Denver, CO - July 2, 2013/mbb/ - River North Brewery has signed an agreement with C.R. Goodman, a state-wide distributor, signaling the next phase in the brewery’s continued growth and expansion.
In its first 18 months, River North s
elf-distributed its bottles and kegs, supplying its Belgian-style brews to select bars and bottle shops in the Denver and Boulder Metro Areas.
“Self-distribution was great to help us get to know the Colorado beer scene,” said Matt Hess, founder and head brewer at River North. “But we came to the realization that to expand outside the Denver area, we’d need a partner.”
The new agreement will allow more Colorado beer fans to enjoy River North’s brews, providing yet another option in one of the top consumer-driven beer markets in the country. Full Front Range availability is expected by August, as well as select markets and locations statewide.
C.R. Goodman focuses solely on premium beers, a key factor in River North’s decision.
“We’re about specialty craft and import beers, and that’s all we want to be about,” said Dave Watson, general manager at C.R. Goodman. “We’re not trying to grab a ton of breweries. We want a brand that fits into our portfolio, which we believe is the top craft and specialty beer portfolio in the state.”
“We want a brand that enhances our entire lineup, and that’s what we think River North will do.”
Going forward, both parties look forward to a long and productive relationship.
“We’re excited to bring our beers to as many thirsty Colorado craft beer drinkers as possible,” Hess said.
