Lou Kashmere is looking to meld two of the hottest segments of the food and dining scene — flash fired pizzas and microbreweries — into one operation: Garage Brewing and Pizzeria.
The spot he picked out is right next to his Shell station in Old Town on Old Town Front Street — the building to the north that used to house a tire repair shop.
Instead of wrecking the building and starting from scratch, Kashmere said he worked with an architect to use the building's existing elements, the bays and the front reception area where tires were displayed, and convert that into the home for a 10-barrel brewing system and a "fast casual" restaurant.
