TAMPA, FL - The Fat Cat Beer Company, the makers of “sessionable,” handcrafted beer in a can, announced the addition of Steve Landert as its Southeastern Regional Manager.

In this role, he will be responsible for opening new accounts, coordinating distribution, conducting off premise merchandising and hosting on-premise promotional events at restaurants, bars, charitable events and tasting centers.

“It was extremely important to bring in someone of Steve’s caliber to tackle the Florida region,” said Bruce Taub, President of The Fat Cat Beer Company. “His passion and experience will play a crucial role as we continue to grow in the Southeast. He is a knowledgeable beer supplier executive who is revered by all the distributors he has worked with in the past. We’re thrilled to have him as a part of the Fat Cat team!”

Prior to joining The Fat Cat Beer Company, Landert was the Vice President of the Southeast region for Singha North America, one of the four importers of Singha Beer in the United States. In this role, he selected new distributors, formulated marketing programs for the brand in the U.S., managed orders and logistics for importing beer from Thailand, participated in national conventions, managed inventory and orders for 28 distributors and increased the brand’s presence in the Asian community through sponsoring numerous events.

Landert started his career in the beer import industry as the Marketing Manager for Paulaner North America (PNA) in Florida where he secured new retail accounts and maintained existing customer relationships by hosting tastings, coordinating beer dinners, attending beer festivals and arranging for retail chains to run specials on an ongoing basis. As a result of his sales success, Landert was promoted to District Manager of the Sunshine District where he managed 16 distributors in four states.

“This is a great opportunity for me to get involved with an up and coming company and help them expand the brand throughout the region,” said Landert. “Given my previous experience and relationships, I see big things on the horizon for Fat Cat and I’m excited to be a part of that.”

Landert received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a minor in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University. In addition, he is a certified instructor for ServSafe and SafeStaff seminars.

The Fat Cat Beer Company currently offers four distinctly different craft beers, including its Fat Cat Lager, Sultans of Wheat, ShawShank’s Injunction Pale Ale and Beale St Brown Ale. Its IPA is expected in late March.
