Exciting news coming from our pal Damien Malfara:
We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you! In 2013 we will be starting a new chapter in the story of Old Forge. We will be relocating the brewpub to a much improved location, the former Lemon A’Peel building, at 298 Mill Street.
For those of you who have been with us since the beginning, you remember the days when we could barely keep 3 to 4 beers on tap and the very long waits on weekends. We thank you for continuing to support us during those early learning days. We overcame many of those challenges when we did our 2010 expansion. However, due to continued space limitations and the fact that we do not own the building, we weren’t able to act on many of your suggestions for improvement: bathrooms on the second floor, space for meetings/private parties, off-site catering, and improved climate control to name a few. Now I’m happy to announce that this will all change!
Please be assured that we will take great care in keeping the unique feel and atmosphere you’ve come to know at Old Forge Brewing Company. We will continue to use local artisans and craftsmen to help forge the new space, creating a comfortable, casual environment while improving our ability to provide you with the best possible experience.
Keep in mind we are still in the initial planning stages so things may change, but our plans include more kitchen capability, up to 16 beers on tap (plus a beer engine for you cask aficionados), increased bar and dining space on both floors, private dining and meeting rooms, 2nd floor bathrooms, handicapped accessibility, improved climate control on each floor, brewhouse and fermentation areas on display on the first floor, and many more improvements.
Many details still need to be worked out. We will keep you posted on our progress. In the meantime, enjoy all your moments at our current location, as they will become only memories as time goes on. And when the time comes for the big move, we’ll announce a huge “closing” party, complete with new beers being tapped, live music, special discounts and give-aways, and a fond farewell to 282 Mill Street. When the new space is ready, we’ll have a grand re-opening at 298 Mill Street!
Once again, thank you to all our customers who have made our time at 282 Mill Street a great success. We look forward to an even greater future at the new home of Old Forge Brewing Company!
Cheers!
Damien and Maria Malfara & everyone at Old Forge Brewing Company
