OSHA Lowers Fines For Redhook In Ben Harris Death

imageNews coming today from the Fosters  that OSHA has lowered the fines levied on Redhook in he wake of worker Ben Harris’s death.  Originally set at $63,000 they have been lowered to $44,000 base don a settlement reached last week.

PORTSMOUTH — Federal workplace safety officials have agreed to lower the combined $63,500 in fines against Redhook Ale Brewery in Portsmouth after reaching a settlement with the owner regarding a fatal keg explosion in April.

In a settlement reached last week, OSHA threw out some of the violations, and also extended the deadlines for Redhook to address some others through the end of the year.

CBA agreed to pay a new combined total of $44,500 in fines by Dec. 1, according to the Nov. 13 agreement.
