We brought you the news back in May of Oskar Blues plan to open a new brewery in Brevard, NC…and now comes word that they are looking to hire brewing staff already. This from Probrewer and who could resist the free REEB bike part:
Oskar Blues Brewery Shift Brewers; Brevard, NC Brewery Location
Oskar Blues Brewery is building a brewery in Brevard, NC and is looking for qualified shift brewers. Brevard, NC is a small community with plenty of access to the outdoors, fishing, hiking, climbing and biking. This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the first team to lead Oskar Blues Brewery in North Carolina.
Applicants must have:
• Minimum 1 year brewing experience in a Production Brewery.
• Strong mechanical background.
• Willingness to work at a VERY fast pace, yet be precise in your daily tasks.
• STRONG cleaning/sanitizing skills.
• STRONG communication skills.
• Flexible availability. Shifts will include overnights, nights, and weekends.
• Yeast handling proficiency.
• Avid Outdoor enthusiasm.
• Desire to learn.
• Independent team player with get er done attitude.
• Fairly twisted sense of humor and appreciation of fine beer.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Employee to employ traditional lifting methods.
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Ability to be frequently exposed to wet conditions and work in extreme cold.
• Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals.
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
• Ability to work in a moderate noise level.
• Must be able to record all brew house information accurately and legibly.
