Exciting news on two new co-brews coming from The Bruery:
Tomorrow, Wednesday August 1st, we will be releasing two brand new collaboration beers. The first, A Stein's Throw, is an 8.5% ABV amalgamation of a barley wine and a traditional stein beer. We teamed up with the staff over at TAPS Brewery in Brea to make this strong, brown ale. To add an extra layer of complexity, we heated granite rocks up to 900º and added it to the wort along with a generous addition of date sugar for added gravity. The result is rich with fruity esters and toffee richness but finishes dry after being fermented with yeast strains special to the Bruery and TAPS. Bottles and draft will both be available when we open at 5 PM. Growlers will not be available for this release.
Tomorrow we will also be releasing a second collaboration beer called Washington OC. That beer was brewed with our friends from the brand new Washington DC based brewery, Blue Jacket. Washington OC is a twist on a Belgian-style quad. We created our own caramel which gives this quad it's dark color and burnt sugar characteristics and we added plums to the fermentor for a rich, dark fruity character. Those of you that got to try a 'sneak-peek' of this beer a couple weeks back know it is one worth coming out for. This beer is draft only and growlers will not be available.
Today and tomorrow we are also offering our Red, White and Blue flight, which include 4 ounces each of Loakal Red, White Oak and blueberry Hottenroth. Reserve Society members can upgrade their White Oak to White Chocolate in that flight just by showing their RS membership card.
Starting Friday we will be serving up a 'Collaborations Beer' flight with Go Team!, Chocosaurus Rye, Washington OC, Stein's Throw and Faster Bigger, Better, Bolder, Faster (...) all making an appearance. Supplies are limited for some of those beers, so come in early if you plan on getting some of those special collaboration brews that haven't been around in a while.
