From WKTV 2:
UTICA, N.Y.(WKTV) Special 35-foot-long tankers made their way to the F-X Matt Brewery Tuesday afternoon from Philadelphia.
It's part of the official kickoff of the brewery's $4 million expansion project.
The new anaerobic digester will break down waste materials into methane and other gases, which will be used to produce electricity.
Throughout the next several months, the F.X. Matt Brewery will install the digester, creating energy to clean 80 to 90 percent of the brewery's waste water.
The project is expected to help revitalize the Brewery District/Varick Street area of Utica.
Other expansion features are updating neglected properties adjacent to the brewery and an extensive green-scaping project in partnership with SUNY ESF.
