Dogfish Head - Firefly IPA Coming 7/20 UPDATE

A peek at a new brew from Dogfish Head…Firefly Ale.  This from DFH:

At The Brewery presented by Dogfish Head, you'll be able to sample half a dozen varieties of our off-centered ales, including the exclusive Firefly Ale.

Firefly is an India Pale Ale brewed with Marris Otter barley and English heritage hops (because the Sex Pistols invented punk rock).

To add a fruity and citrusy aroma, there's a late addition of American Calypso hops (because the Ramones invented punk rock).

If you want a taste of Firefly Ale (5% ABV, 25 IBUs), make your way to the East Coast's premier music experience, from July 20-22 in Dover, Del. It'll be on draft under the Dogfish tent, and once it's gone, it's gone.

And an update from DelawareOnline:

The Firefly Music Festival and Dogfish Head have announced a partnership that will not only bring your favorite Dogfish beers to the festival site, but also an exclusive new beer brewed just for the three-day rock fest.

Dogfish will unveil the new Firefly Ale at the festival, which runs from July 20-22 near the Dover International Speedway with The Black Keys, The Killers and Jack White headlining.

The beer, which has a 5% ABV, is a pale ale brewed with English Marris Otter barley and American Calypso hops. (Dogfish’s Sam Calagione, a big music fan himself, included the English barley as a nod to the Sex Pistols and the American hops represent The Ramones.)

In addition to Firefly Ale, the following Dogfish brews will be also sold at The Brewery: 60 Minute IPA (6% ABV), 90 Minute IPA (9% ABV), Raison D’être (8% ABV), Midas Touch (9% ABV) and Namaste (5% ABV).

The Dogfish beers will be exclusive to The Brewery and Anheuser-Busch-brand beers will also be available on the festival grounds, organizers say. The names of other food and alcohol vendors have not yet been announced.
