New Belgium met with local residents and businesses to outline their plans for their new Asheville, NC facility. Details from WLOS:
They're asking for feedback and it didn't take long for New Belgium Brewing to make a decision that's made nearby businesses and residents happy. It's decided to build its warehouse and distribution center outside the River Arts District which will significantly cut down heavy truck traffic. Where that will be hasn't been decided yet. Monday night the company asked folks what New Belgium can do to be good neighbors. They told the crowd of around 100 people they will re-use as much material as possible as they demolish the current buildings on the site. The brewery site will also have a greenway that runs parallel with the river. A Charlotte architectural firm has been picked and New Belgium is interviewing site and road development firms this week. They plan to hire as many local firms and crews as possible. There will be another question and answer session Tuesday starting at 5:30pm at The Artery at 346 Depot Street.New Belgium Answers Questions. Full details here and here
