Beverages supplier Coca-Cola Amatil (CCA) has underlined its desire to re-enter the beer market, announcing new deals to distribute a large portfolio of beer brands in the Pacific region.

CCA said on Tuesday that it had recently entered into multi-year agreements with Grupo Modelo, Carlsberg and Molson Coors to distribute their portfolio of premium beer brands, including the bestselling Corona and Carlsberg brands, across Fiji, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific Islands.

CCA group managing director Terry Davis said the development of CCA's alcohol business was a core growth opportunity for CCA.

'These new agreements are all very important steps in developing our beer strategy and will complement our plans to acquire the Foster's Fiji business, strengthening our total beverage portfolio offering across the Pacific region,' Mr Davis told shareholders at CCA's annual general meeting in Sydney.

Mr Davis said the new partnerships combined some of the world's leading international premium beer brands with CCA's large-scale customer and distribution capabilities.
