Brooklyn Brewery–The Food Experiments Begin @ South By Southwest (SXSW) Taco Experiment

imageWe brought you the details of the Brooklyn Brewery Food Experiments Tour a few weeks ago…and now comes word of the first event to be held at South By Southwest (SXSW) in Austin TX to be called the Taco Experiment.  Here are details from Brooklyn:

The nation’s leading cook-off organization is bringing back celebrity judges, creative food themes and the chance for one local chef to win a trip to Brooklyn.

SUNDAY, MARCH 11: noon-3pm
The
Food Experiments National Tour rolls in to Austin, TX with the Taco Experiment. Judging the experiment will be Addie Broyles, food writer at the Austin American-Statesman, Aaron and Stacy Franklin of Franklin BBQ, Virginia Wood, food editor at The Austin Chronicle, and Claudia Alarcon, food writer at The Austin Chronicle and Zagat.com. DJ Jester the Filipino Fist will spin audibles while you savor edibles.

$10 includes tasting samples and a complimentary Brooklyn Brewery beer. A portion of the proceeds will go towards charities that promote sustainability and local culinary education for disadvantaged children and teens. Buy tickets here.

SATURDAY, MARCH 10: noon-2pm
But wait, there’s more! The day before the Taco Experiment, the Austin Supermarket Showdown goes off at
Central Market. Come out and watch as seven-time Brooklyn Cook-Off champ, Theo Peck, comes to town to take on one of your own local foodies for bragging rights in a mini cook-off of mini-epic proportions. The not so secret ingredient: Brooklyn Brewery beer.
