My absolute favorite brewpub in Alaska has always been Anchorage’s Moose’s Tooth Brewing Co. Whether it was the fantastically customizable personal pizzas or the 13 in-house beers (and hand pump) on tap, it was always my favorite place to stop. Now comes word that Moose’s Tooth will change it’s name to Broken Tooth Brewing Co.
Parent company “Fresh Ale Pubs” currently runs a theater/pub called Bear’s Tooth and all three names Bear’s Tooth, Moose’s Tooth & Broken Tooth are all mountain names in Alaska’s Denali National Park. The change to Broken Tooth is being done to help the brewery establish it’s own identity as it moves to start canning their beer. Word form the brewery is that their Fairweather IPA will be the first to see cans, with other beers to follow. Current brewpub licensing will ONLY allow Broken Tooth to sell their cans from the brewpub & Bear’s Tooth…so stay tuned for further distribution details.
