mybeerbuzz.com Foreign Correspondent Moose in Germany

This is the Haasen-Brau brewery again showing an upgrade to the refrigeration. Moose tells me they stopped brewing in this particular building around 1940. Herhart, the 3rd generation continued to brew in a different building on the property until 8 years ago before he was bought out by Winkler, a larger local brewery.

  1. My first visit to Straub in St. Marys, around 1981, included a peek at what may have been the only still-functioning Baudelot (waterfall) wort cooler in the U.S. When I returned the next year with a camera, it was gone.

There is also one featured in the 1930 German brewery film posted here recently. This post on refrigeration upgrades brought back that memory. Thanks, Bil!
