Label Text:

“Featuring a bouquet of New York Excelsior, Citra and Mosaic hops alongside Ommegang House Lager Yeast, this collaborative Juicy Lager from Brewery Ommegang and Talea Beer Co. is timeless and irresistible. Blooms golden lemon hues reflect the shared passion for innovation, delivering pure, juicy flavor with a crisp, refreshing finish—no fruit, just hop artistry among friends.”

About Brewery Ommegang:
A Tradition Born in 1549

Holy Roman Emperor King Charles V visited medieval Brussels in 1549 with hundreds from his Royal Court. To welcome the King, merchants, vendors, cooks, brewers, musicians, theater troupes, dancers and more lined up around the city walls and joined in a celebration as his entourage passed by. That parade became known as the “Ommegang,” a word that variously means “coming together” and “walking about.” The Brussels Ommegang Festival continues to this day.

The First Farmhouse Brewery in America in 100+ Years

Belgian breweries Duvel Moortgat, Affligem, and Scaldis join with importers/entrepreneurs Don Feinberg and Wendy Littlefield to build an authentic Belgian-style farmstead brewery in Cooperstown, NY. They locate this cultural transplant on an old 140-acre hop farm in the Susquehanna River valley, in a part of upstate New York once known as Nova Belgium.

Our First Beers

We open in winter with Ommegang Abbey Dubbel, an 8.5% ABV traditional Trappist-style dark ale. Brewed with a complex array of spices and packaged in 750ml bottles, Abbey breaks the mold of the emerging American craft beer scene.

Our Portfolio (and Reputation) Grow

We expand our offerings with Hennepin Farmhouse Saison, Rare Vos Amber, and 12oz bottles. High-end culinary magazines and restaurants across the US take notice.

Ponder the Profound

Responding to a fan’s fantasy of “the perfect beer,” we introduce Three Philosophers, a Belgian-style quadrupel ale. A touch of Belgian kriek – a cherry beer – makes it distinctive, and offers a delicate note of dark fruit.

About Talea Beer:

(pronounced tah-lay-uh)

Both avid homebrewers with MBAs, LeAnn and Tara met after leaving their corporate jobs in tech and media to join the beer industry. Working together on a daily basis, their passions quickly aligned and they realized a shared vision: to create a totally different beer company that would expand the craft beer market.

After years of browsing beer aisles and visiting breweries, they found that despite the booming craft beer market, no breweries were actively trying to speak to customers like them. From confusing packaging and bearded bros with attitudes to dark, industrial taprooms, the male-dominated industry was lacking an approachable, inclusive perspective and voice.

Tara and LeAnn knew there was an opportunity to speak to a broader audience and launched TALEA, creating "easy-drinking beers, perhaps to replace that glass of rosé" (Florence Fabricant, The New York Times). TALEA's beers are at the intersection of high quality and low-bitterness with fruit-forward flavors; beers that you can comfortably share with your hard-seltzer and wine-drinking friends, or open with the most discerning beer connoisseur.

TALEA's flagship brewery and taproom opened in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in March 2021! They now have 3 additional taprooms open: Cobble Hill, West Village, and Bryant Park. All are bright, colorful, and design-forward created with the help of female architects. Beyond the taprooms, TALEA beers can be found in 1,000+ retailers, bars, and restaurants across NY State.
