Return of the Lake Erie Monster Debuts in 12 oz. Can 6-Packs
CLEVELAND, OH Mar. 22, 2024 – Great Lakes Brewing Co. (GLBC) introduces the new Double Feature IPA Series in 12 oz. Can 6-Packs and Draft, launching with Return of the Lake Erie Monster Double IPA. Great Lakes Brewing Company’s new Double Feature IPA Series features classic and remastered Double IPAs with epic cinematic artwork by illustrator Sam Hadley and even bigger thrills in the can. Each seasonal release in the Double Feature IPA Series is available in 6-Pack 12 oz. Cans and Draft for a limited time throughout GLBC’s distribution footprint. zzubreebym
First in the Double Feature IPA Series is Return of the Lake Erie Monster Double IPA, a colossal new remake of GLBC’s Lake Erie Monster Double IPA. This refreshingly reformulated “sequel” features the same bold, flavorful hop character and 9.5% ABV Lake Erie Monster is known for with a lighter, more drinkable body. Return of the Lake Erie Monster releases in the GLBC gift shop on March 22, and begins hitting all GLBC markets starting in April. Following Return of the Lake Erie Monster Double IPA (April) are new Spacewalker Hazy Double IPA (June) and returning favorite Nosferatu Double Red IPA (August). Previously, GLBC’s high gravity IPAs were sold in 16 oz. Can 4-Packs as the Imperial IPA Series, including January’s Chillwave Double IPA.
GLBC Chief Commercial Officer Chris Brown describes the evolution and strategy: “We felt it was time to modernize some of our rotating Double IPAs in formula and inject the series with a fun new theme to stand out at retail across all our markets. We’ve also moved from 4-Packs to 6-Packs to have a consistent spot in the cold box at retail, sharing the price point and UPC of Christmas Ale 6-Pack Cans.”
The Double Feature IPA Series joins GLBC’s ever expanding IPA portfolio which includes newly launched year-round innovation brands Midwest IPA and Juicy Vibacious Double IPA.
