Red Cross opens shelter for residents impacted by Wilkes-Barre apartment fire

[WILKES-BARRE, FEB. 15, 2024] — The Northeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting residents after an apartment fire this evening along East Northampton Street in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne County.

The Red Cross opened an emergency shelter at G.A.R. Memorial Middle School (250 South Grant Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702) to provide displaced residents with food, shelter, relief supplies, emotional support and other assistance.

Red Cross shelters are open to everyone in need after a disaster, and all disaster assistance is free.

Anyone in need of Red Cross assistance should call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767).
