Chuckanut Brewery’s Alt Bier is a cold conditioned German style old ale known as the traditional beer of Dusseldorf, Germany. A seasonal, once a year release from Chuckanut, Alt Bier is known for its elegant malt forward flavors and dry, snappy finish. Winner of multiple Gold and Bronze medals from the GABF, North American Beer Awards and Washington Beer Awards, Chuckanut Alt Bier is dark bronze in color with a creamy tan head and medium body. Chuckanut Alt Bier has subtle fruity notes with a clean finish due to its cold conditioning. Similar to old style ales like Belgium beers, Alt is a pleasant any time of day beer. Even though it uses an ale yeast, Alt is conditioned like a lager at cold temperatures for a smooth finish. Great with sausages, ham, and potatoes Alt is a food friendly beer.
