ARVADA, CO Odyssey Beerwerks is partnering with the Arvada Professional Fire Fighters Foundation (APFFF) to raise money for injured fire fighters and the families of fallen fire fighters. The annual fundraiser will take place at the Odyssey Beerwerks Taproom (5535 W. 56th Ave, Ste. 107, Arvada) on Saturday, July 29 from 2:00-10:00pm and features the release of the Old Dodge Red Ale, a beer brewed and canned in collaboration with Arvada Fire Fighters.
The official beer tapping will be at 2:00pm. Old Dodge Red is malt-forward ale that brings out the hearty flavors of rich caramel and slightly roasted malts, with a touch of smoked malt in the finish. It is named after Arvada’s first motorized fire engine from 1923, which will be on display during the fundraiser and is celebrating 100 years this year!
Fire Fighters from Arvada and beyond will be in attendance, and Li’l Nick’s Pizza will be serving up their delicious pizzas. Li’l Nick’s is a family-owned and operated restaurant that has served the Arvada/Wheat Ridge community for more than four decades, and co-owner Nick Quintana also serves as a local fire fighter.
Special performances by Arvada Pipes and Drums is one of the highlights of the day, as well as a Silent Auction and Raffle that directly benefits the APFFF.
All proceeds from sales of the Old Dodge Red Ale on July 29 will go towards helping injured fire fighters and the families of fallen firefighters, via APFFF. In addition, after the event and until the beer is gone, a portion of keg sales and can sales, inside the Taproom and at local restaurants, bars, and liquor stores, will also go APFFF.
“The Old Dodge beer release is special, because this beer is a truly a collaboration with Arvada fire fighters,” says Deana Hill, co-owner of Odyssey Beerwerks. “The fire fighters come help us brew, and come help us can the beer as well. We’re proud to brew this beer for them and hold this fundraiser every year, in support of our courageous Arvada fire fighters and first responders.”
Odyssey Beerwerks has been holding this fundraiser since 2016, only missing the year 2020 due to Covid. Previous years garnered a large amount of funds that were used to build the 9/11 Memorial at Arvada Fire Station #2, at 5250 Oak Street, Arvada, 80005.
