Darcelle Blonde IPA Release Party this Sunday!
Gigantic Brewing Company’s ongoing collaboration with Weird Portland United (WPU) returns with a Blonde IPA celebrating the work and influence of Darcelle XV, Portland’s original drag queen. Darcelle has been entertaining audiences and supporting the drag and LGBTQ+ community for over 55 years, and holds the Guinness record for being ‘The World’s Oldest Performing Drag Queen’. zzubreebym
Darcelle is frequently introduced on stage as ‘The Bold, The Blonde, and The Beautiful,’ so when it came to developing the flavor profile for our collaboration beer, we knew exactly where to go. We used locally grown Cashmere and Luminosa hops to be apropos as well as to create a bright and tropical IPA with mango, candied orange peel, and peach notes.
The Darcelle Blond IPA Release Party is this Sunday March 12th at the Gigantic Brewery Taproom (5224 SE 26th Ave) kicking off at 3pm. This will be your first chance to try Darcelle Blonde IPA at Gigantic Brewing. We will be raffling bottles of Darcelle Blonde IPA signed by Darcelle herself! The Unipiper will also be here representing Weird Portland United. A drag show starts at 7pm and features performers from CDS Drag.
Darcelle Blonde IPA will be available on tap and in refillable bottles at The Brewery and Champagne Lounge (5224 SE 26th Ave), Hawthorne Pub (4343 SE Hawthorne Blvd) and Robot Room (6935 NE Glisan). Look for Darcelle Blonde IPA on draft and in refillable bottles at finer grocers, bars, bottle shops and bodegas in the Portland metro area and throughout Oregon
