Company’s Next-generation, Tech-infused, IoT-enabled Heating Device Addresses the Limitations of Consumer Options to Enable More Effective Recovery Therapies
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – February 21, 2023 – Infraway, dedicated to the advancement of tech-infused recovery and relief options to increase the overall health and wellness of everyone, today announced the launch of L1, its next-gen, first-of-a-kind IoT-enabled wearable device that incorporates innovative far infrared (FIR) technology with topical heat to provide the next level of self-care options for those that suffer from aches, soreness, and tightness. F.I.R. enables the L1 to penetrate three inches under the skin to provide deeper and more effective therapy to muscle fibers and connective tissue. zzubreebym
“We’re thrilled to share L1 with the world,” stated Max Betkowski, CEO of Infraway. “As a kinesiologist with an engineering background, I understand how muscles and motors work, and knew there were limitations to traditional heating devices that are currently on the market. With L1, users can now gain access to an intricate and discreet device that pairs science and technology to deliver a new way of self-managed care. We believe that our L1 will play a critical role in elevating health and wellness, and ultimately a higher quality of life.”
The Acquisition of Relief Technologies
In the fall of 2022, Infraway acquired Relief Technologies, a San Francisco-based health and wellness company that provided a heating device geared towards alleviating back discomfort. Infraway was introduced to the founders of Relief Technologies in the fall of 2022. After a brief chat with Relief’s founders, it was clear that Infraway and Relief Technologies had a similar approach to helping people proactively take control over their health and wellness and recovery options. Acquisition talks began in September 2022 and the deal was finalized in November 2022. With Relief Technologies’ hardware paired with Infraway’s software and technology components, the acquisition was integral in streamlining the time frame of getting L1 to market.
“We believe that Infraway is a natural home for Relief’s technology, which will supercharge Infraway’s product offering,” stated Jon Thomas, co-founder of Relief Technologies. “We share Infraway’s vision for the future of smart, wearable health and wellness solutions, and we’re excited for the road ahead.”
Relieve, Recover, Refresh
Weighing in at a light 1.5 lbs, the L1 is small and can be worn comfortably over or under clothing, so it doesn’t get in the way of your daily activities and workouts. It fits waists from 25” – 40” with an extension available for 40” – 60” waists. Infraway’s F.I.R. technology is powered by MEtec, one of the innovators in this space. With up to two hours of battery life, it can connect via Bluetooth to the Infraway app for customized control, which allows you to proactively manage your therapy. The 4-way Stretch Lycra + Antimicrobial material allows the product to stretch to adjust the fit as needed. The L1 is one of the most dynamic yet affordable products on the market, available for only $179 per device. To purchase or learn more about Infraway’s L1, visit our product page.
The health and wellness market, valued at $4.9B in 2022, is expected to increase by nearly 20 percent (18.8 percent) by the year 2025. L1’s entrance into this market comes at a time when consumers and a growing number of companies are focused on the value of personalized self-care solutions.
