More Information:
Operation Homefront’s mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive – not simply struggle to get by – in the communities that they’ve worked so hard to protect. Holiday meals have been provided to more than 606,000 individual military family members across the country since the Holiday Meals for Military program began in 2010. 88% of Operation Homefront’s expenditures go directly to programs benefitting America’s military families.
“Military families continue to have a hard time when it comes to the already stressful holiday season. With inflation and rising cost of goods, we have seen an increase in financial need through our Critical Financial Assistance program – which includes financial need for food assistance,” said Vivian Dietrich, Senior Regional Director, Operation Homefront. “This Thanksgiving, Operation Homefront welcomes the opportunity to partner with Harris Teeter to provide holiday meals so families in the DC Metro area can enjoy a traditional holiday dinner without the financial burden."

About Murphy-Goode Winery:
Making Wine in Sonoma County for More than a Decade
Back in 1985, around a friendly game of Liar’s Dice, Tim Murphy, Dale Goode and Dave Ready decided to make their love of fine wines official. They began creating Fume Blanc and Chardonnay from Murphy Ranch and Murphy-Goode Vineyard in Sonoma County. Fast forward 24 vintages and today Murphy-Goode, has added more wines to the line-up, including world-class Bordeaux varieties from Alexander Valley. Today, David Ready, Jr., is the winemaker, and the winery remains family owned. Wines, family, friends, fun. It's been a Goode ride. Murphy-Goode Winery will celebrate 33 years of wine making this year in 2018.
Murphy-Goode Winemaker:
We think our winemaker, David Ready, Jr., is a rock star. Not only did he grow up playing drums in bands around Minneapolis, he also lays down a pretty impressive set of wines. Son of founder Dave Ready, David Jr. first worked harvests in Sonoma County and Australia. Eventually he came back to Murphy-Goode to craft our line-up of Zin, Cab and our original pair—Fume Blanc and Chardonnay. You’ll find David with music playing in the cellar, a Minnesota Viking helmet on his head, and his nose deep in a glass of Murphy-Goode.
“My family has a long military background dating back to World War I, where my great grandfather Bill Ready served in the Army. They were proud to serve our great country and would all be excited about helping our returning soldiers that gave so much for us.” -David Ready Jr., Winemaker
Operation Homefront and Murphy-Goode partnership:
With the sales of our Murphy-Goode wines has allowed Murphy-Goode Winery to be a great supporter of Operation Homefront which helped military families in need.
