From Harpoon:
Due to the pandemic, the number of people needing food aid in the United States has doubled. Feeding America shared that in 2021, 53 million people turned to food banks and community programs for help putting food on the table. zzubreebym
At Harpoon, we pride ourselves on giving back to our communities. Every November we celebrate something we call Friendsgiving. Friendsgiving embodies giving back to our local food banks and in doing so, being thankful for family and friends that help us all get through the tough times.
For the entire month of November, we are supporting The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) at our Harpoon Beer Hall in Boston, MA, and the The Vermont Food Bank at our Harpoon Brewery and Taproom in Windsor, VT through the following ways:
Harpoon Beer Hall – Boston, MA
$1/pint of Harpoon IPA and $1/cinnamon sugar pretzel will be directly donated to the GBFB
Harpoon Brewery and Taproom – Windsor, VT
$1/pint of Harpoon IPA and a $1 for each of the following food items:
- Pumpkin Pie Pretzel – served with pie filling and local maple butter
- The Gobbler – wheatberry bread, house made cranberry mayo, Cabot cheddar, traditional stuffing and roast turkey
- Thanksgiving bowl – mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet corn, VT Farmstead Alehouse Cheddar and turkey gravy
- Harvest Salad – mixed greens, roasted butternut squash, dried cranberries, pumpkin seeds and cherry tomatoes with maple vinaigrette
Please visit us during November to celebrate giving back and helping those with food insecurities in our community! Check out the websites of these amazing food banks to see how you you can give back directly or learn how you can receive assistance.
The Greater Boston Food Bank Last year alone, The Greater Boston Food Bank helped supply 96 million healthy meals to those in need. Every $1 helps provide 2 nutritious meals.
The Vermont Food Bank The Vermont Food Bank supplies 12 million pounds of food to people throughout Vermont annually. Every $3 helps them provide 5 meals.
On behalf of the employee owners at Harpoon, thank you for helping us donate to those who are food insecure in our communities!
