Fall into Punktoberfest at Lakewood Brewing

From Lakewood :

WHAT:
Lakewood Brewing Co. (LBC) is celebrating the end of summer and the start of Pumpkin Spice season with its annual Punktoberfest, featuring the seasonal debut of their most popular seasonal lager, Punkel. On Sept. 3, the North Texas brewery, taproom and beergarden, which just opened a kitchen, will host plenty of stein-hoisting, beer poking, lager drinking, and pretzel noshing. The event will also debut three other taproom-only lagers: Reinhardt German Pils, Pivo Golems Czech Dark Lager, and Joey’s Oktoberfest.

“It’s been a brutal summer, so why not start the Octoberfest celebrations as soon as possible!” said Wim Bens, President and Founder of LBC. “We put our crushable dark German lager in a can for tailgating in your lederhosen, with just a hint of pumpkin spice. And we’re throwing a lager-themed party to celebrate the end (hopefully) of summer.”

Polka entertainment will be provided by The Bavarian Brothers with kitchen specials like bratwurst and LBC’s delicious new Bavarian pretzel. Guests of all ages can participate in a variety of Oktoberfest games in the recently updated beergarden. Admission is free with the option to purchase the Punktoberfest package available at the door that includes a commemorative Punkel stein, two beers and a Bavarian pretzel for $25.

Punkel was one of the first local pumpkin-inspired beers. Bens attributes its long-lasting popularity in part to how easy drinking it is, since it contains no pumpkin, just pumpkin pie spices. First released in 2013, it has survived the Pumpkin Beer Craze of 2014 and Pumpkin Beer Demise of 2016 to be one of the last pumpkin-inspired beers left standing. It is LBC’s longest and most popular seasonal.

Lakewood’s Seduction Series takes LBC’s best-selling Temptress Imperial Milk Stout and infuses it with different flavors. Those not able to make it out for Punktoberfest can find LBC beers like Punkel, S’Mores Temptress, Peanut Butter Temptress, and Temptress, the number- one selling craft milk stout in Texas, using Lakewood’s statewide “Find Our Beer” tool.
