Mont Clare Deli & Market to open winter of 2021 in Mont Clare, Pennsylvania.
October 13, 2021 - Mont Clare, PA - In late September 2021, The local sandwich shop, Eagles Nest Deli, was purchased by the owners of Steel City Coffeehouse & Brewery. The husband and wife team of Laura Vernola and Ed Simpson plan to continue their success with a grab & go concept deli in their hometown of Mont Clare, PA, just outside of Phoenixville. While continuing the past owners traditions of hoagies, zeps, slaw, pickled eggs, grilled long hots, tuna and chicken salad and soups, Laura and Ed plan to add in a full kitchen for cheesesteaks and grab & go prepared meals like eggplant parmesan, meatballs and chicken cutlets, as well as adding in ice cream during the warmer seasons. zzubreebym
Laura and Ed are also Mont Clare, PA residents. Laura says: “We are excited to represent the Village of Mont Clare, as it sometimes gets overlooked because it is so small. Our hope is people will stop by, take in our small village and get to know us.” Simpson says: “Our goal is to open by mid-November, as long as our permit approvals, contractors and equipment needs are met. We are anxious to get open and share our family traditions."
EllieMAC Designs is stepping in to help with design and signage. You might recognize the name, as Ellie did the beautiful mural at Steel City Coffeehouse & Brewery during the pandemic. Ellie’s mural really captures the beauty and culture of Phoenixville.
The deli will be serving the classic “Eagles Nest” sandwiches and zeps. They plan to add in cheesesteaks, grab & go prepared foods, a bigger breakfast and coffee selection, pastry as well as a smoker and outdoor seating in the spring of 2022. Vegan and gluten free options will be available.
Mont Clare Deli & Market will be open 7 days a week for dine-in, takeout, curbside and delivery. Stay tuned for details and follow the new location on facebook and instagram @montclaredeli
