Deschutes Brewery Closing Roanoke, VA Tasting Room 12/31/2021

From Deschutes:

An important message to our friends and fans in the Roanoke Valley:

Since we opened our doors more than 4 years ago, we have served countless drafts, welcomed tens of thousands of visitors, and have come to love the social community that’s organically grown from our location on the corner of Market St and Church Ave. zzubreebym

Our original lease is up in April, and we have made the difficult decision not to renew. In those 4+ years since the Roanoke crew opened the Tasting Room doors, our team has been there with our community navigating the changes in the craft beer market, a global pandemic, and shift in the brewery’s expansion timeline.

Though plans for an east coast production facility were ultimately put on hold, the Roanoke Tasting Room staff remained committed to serving our outstanding product to the highest level of customer service possible. We have an extraordinary team of people who represent the brand with dignity and enthusiasm, both behind the bar and within the community.

From the beginning, we’ve sought to support and play host to as wide a cross-section of the Roanoke Valley as possible. From weekly trivia, to showcases of regional literary talent, to weekly fundraisers for local nonprofits and an old time music jam, the mission at the core of the Tasting Room has always been to support, showcase, and welcome the community however we can.

Our last day in business will be New Year’s Eve. There are a lot of feelings to unpack in the wake of news like this, but please come by and celebrate these years with us and support our staff during these last few months. We’re always appreciative of our guests and your patronage and kindness will be most appreciated as we begin the hard work of closing the doors of a business we all love.

We hope the Tasting Room has meant something to you over the past 4 years and would love to hear your story in the comments. Are you a nightly regular? Did you celebrate a special event with us? Did a staff member go above and beyond to make your visit incredible? On the other side of this transition, we’ll cherish the memories forged in our pursuit of an amazing brewery experience.
