10 Barrel Introduces All Ways Down

From 10 Barrel:

Get ready to get Down. All Ways Down is 10 Barrel’s latest recipe to follow the brewer's canned beer dev. schedule, which is winning,  before being canned, bottled and kegged for your drinking enjoyment. The 10 Barrel team says this Double IPA is made to match the adrenaline high you just gave yourself on that last run, whether on bike or board.

“This beer was originally created with the Rome Snowboards crew in mind, and contributing ideas to our head brewer in Denver, Kay Witkiewicz,” said Grady Skelton, 10 Barrel Brewing’s Sr. Creative Brand Manager. “Originally, it was for an annual party at our Denver Pub during the Winter Outdoor Retailer show. We adopted Rome Snowboards’ tagline as the name of the beer and to pay homage to the feeling of sliding down hills sideways. We kept drinking it after doing fun stuff, mostly downhill, so we expanded the idea to all the other gravity sports we enjoy. After three years of brewing this beer with Rome, we tweaked the recipe and got it ready to make a big splash in a package on the shelf of your local bottle shop or on draft at your local pub.”

For those who already know, Rome is based in New England; Vermont specifically, which as we all know is a mecca for good beer, and especially Double IPAs. Witkiewicz felt the pressure and poured massive effort and hops into this beer, including Simcoe, Azacca and Mosaic Cryo Hops; employing the trifecta to bring a  full-on assault of hop flavor and aroma to the drinker's palate.

This effort was awarded at the 2021 Oregon Beer Awards with a gold medal in the Imperial IPA category. It probably helped that Witkiewicz first had to win over the Vermonters who agreed to share their name with his beer. He did though, and there’s even a tiny Rome Snowboard on the can to prove it.

“Rome's office is just a few miles from heavy hitters like The Alchemist Brewing and their extremely popular Heady Topper Double IPA,” said Skelton “But man, we feel like All Ways Down is ready to sit right next to it. Just don’t tell them where it’s from until they get halfway through it.”

All Ways Down will be in standard 12oz. bottles and cans, plus a new vessel, a tallboy 19.2 ounce can.
