River Ridge Red Returns to Creature Comforts

River Ridge Red Returns to Creature Comforts

From Creature Comforts:

River Ridge Red is a 6.8% ABV blended oak-aged beer showcasing red raspberries and celebrating the crop from River Ridge Organics’ 2020 harvest in Independence, Virginia. As with many of Creature Comforts' other barrel-aged fruited beers, the brewery blended perfectly aged barrel stock onto the fruit for an extended maceration.

For this process, the brewery selects the very best blend of barrels to honor the complex flavor of the raspberries grown by River Ridge Organics. This beer is a proud addition to Creature Comforts' fruited mixed culture farm celebrations as part of a continuing effort to explore the historical relationship between brewers and farmers.

“We believe River Ridge Organics grows some of the finest berries you will find in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and that inspired us to create a beer in celebration of their beautiful crop," said Wood Cellar and Mixed Fermentation Director Blake Tyers. "We select the very best blend of barrels to honor the complex flavor of the amazing red raspberries grown on their farm and added more raspberries this year than ever before. The result is a beautiful, bright, and jammy beer we hope will serve as a tribute to the farmers that grow these delicious raspberries.”

River Ridge Red will be available from the brewery's taproom in 500-mL bottles on July 23 and can be pre-purchased on Oznr. To learn more about Creature Comforts, visit www.creaturecomfortsbeer.com.
