Universal Ghost is back just in time for the holidays and it brought along a tiki-inspired cousin to join the fun!! Tropical Ghost is a playful new variant of our classic BBA stout.
Universal Ghost is a dark, velvety imperial stout that was aged for months in Willett bourbon and rye whisky barrels with real vanilla beans. A deeply rich and hypnotizingly dark vision of otherworldly intensity manifests upon each transcendent sip. Universal Ghost will not be going into distribution and will only be sold online & in the taproom.
Tropical Ghost is all that goodness plus an almond-joy twist! We used 7 pounds of coconut and 3.5 pounds of almonds PER BARREL to create this delightfully tropical, over-the-top stout. Our Brewmaster, Phil Emerson, says it's the most decadent Almanac beer we've ever made! Tropical Ghost will not be going into distribution and will only be sold online & in the taproom.
Both these enchanting apparitions are available for pick-up NOW at the brewery in Alameda or you can have them shipped to your doorstep either individually OR in our brand new DECADENCE MIXED PACK! Go ahead, treat yourself.
And Now For Something Sour! Hypernova Vol. 5 Is Available Now!

The fifth installment of our HYPERNOVA Series has descended from the stratosphere!! This space juice was aged in oak barrels with pluots, plums, nectarines, vanilla beans, and just a touch of lactose. The ripe California stonefruits create an irresistibly tart flavor sensation, while the lactose and vanilla keep the brew nicely balanced with a touch of sweetness and a fuller mouthfeel than our other sour ales.
This 100% mixed-culture and barrel-aged sour explosion might just warp space, time, and your tastebuds. If you're planning to drink some sours around the fire this holiday season we can't recommend trying Hypernova highly enough. It's a sour beer experience like no other.
