Monk's Café Announces Temporary Closure Due To Covid-19

From Monk's Café:

After much deliberation, we have decided to “mothball” Monk’s Café for a few months. Cold weather is rolling in and – even though we have gone above and beyond what is required – we just don’t feel it’s wise or safe enough to welcome guests indoors as our only seating option.

COVID cases are rising rapidly in Philadelphia and we love our Monk’s family too much to put them at risk.

The lack of a national plan to deal with this pandemic makes it impossible to continue operating in good conscience while cases are spiking throughout the country.

Operating as a takeaway-only restaurant is not viable at this time. We have decided to make this an immediate action. We are closed as of 5PM, Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

We will reopen as soon as we feel that it is safe for all of us to gather indoors or perhaps in March 2021, if the weather cooperates.

We love you and will miss seeing all of you. We look forward to welcoming our amazing guests back when we reopen.

Stayed tuned for a couple of Very Special Beer Sales – we have decided to share much of our rare inventory with our loyal guests. These events will be posted to our social media.

Please stay safe in these times.
