Today I have some new cans coming from Saint Arnold in Houston, TX. Coastal Harmony will be a DIPA brewed in support of the cities affected by Hurricane Laura (9.2%-AbV, 12oz cans). Double Down will be a DIPA that is “all in on the hops.” This beer also hits 9.2%-AbV and it will also hit 12oz cans. I’ve also added in 2020 Bourbon Barrel French Press imperial coffee porter (12oz bottles), Juicy IPA (7.1%-AbV, 19.2oz cans) & Cherry AF Berliner Weisse beer with cherries (3.6%-AbV, 12oz cans).
This 17 Sept 2020 update from Saint Arnold:
Coming Soon:
Coastal Harmony Double IPA
To contribute to a long rebuilding effort, our friends at Urban South Brewery created Coastal Harmony and invited fellow brewers to participate. We are proud to join them.
Coastal Harmony is a double IPA benefiting the Urban South Coastal Harmony Fund, managed by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. We'll fill you in on all the details of the beer as we get closer to releasing it towards the end of October.
Our mission is to build community through our passion for beer. Our beer is distributed in two states: Texas and Louisiana. With Laura in August and Delta in October, Louisiana experienced a devastating hurricane season this year. That is why we joined Urban South's initiative to brew Coastal Harmony in support of our eastern neighbors.
How do you help? Enjoy this beer!
Coming Wednesday:
Coastal Harmony Double IPA
Coastal Harmony is our take on a juicy double IPA. At 9.2% ABV and 71 IBU, our focus was to create a big tropical aroma and flavor while integrating bitterness rather than it being a focal point. To accomplish this, we used techniques similar to those we've learned from brewing Juicy IPA and Low Dose: late kettle hop additions and the use of Incognito, an all-natural hop product that delivers highly concentrated flavor and aroma.
This beer benefits the Urban South Coastal Harmony Fund, managed by the Greater New Orleans Foundation. Funds will be directed rapidly to organizations on the ground doing hurricane relief work in Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana, as well as the long-term work of rebuilding our coast.
Coastal Harmony will be available in six packs and on draft starting Wednesday, October 28. You can find this limited release beer at select spots in the Houston area and in Louisiana, while supplies last. It will also be available at our Beer Garden & Restaurant - you can order online for curbside pickup or drive thru for beer to-go.
