Old Forge Releasing Barrel Reserve Series Farmhouse Blonde Ale

FARMHOUSE BLONDE ALE
BOTTLE RELEASE
FRIDAY 9/25!

Hey Everyone,
We are pleased to announce a new bottle release from our Barrel Reserve Series…Farmhouse Blonde Ale! This beauty aged in barrels on a mixed culture of Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus, which lends a tart and funky character to this brew. It comes in around 8.0% alcohol by volume and finishes relatively clean for the style. We recommend serving slightly chilled at 45F - 50F.
These bottles are only available at our brewpub in Danville and our taproom in York, $12 per bottle, and since we only bottled about 20 cases, they won't last long. They are ready to enjoy immediately or they can be cellar aged for future enjoyment.

I've added in Drachenodem smoked lager aged in jalapenos )750ml bottles).

This 31 Dec 2020 update from Old Forge:

DRACHENODEM RELEASE
JAN 5, 2021

We are so glad to be putting 2020 behind us, and we have a lot to look forward to in 2021. Our first new tapping of 2021 will also be a bottle release, on Tuesday, Jan. 5th.
Drachenodem (German for "dragon's breath") is a smoked lager aged on jalapenos. It's essentially a blend of our doppelbock and rauchbier, giving it a rich, malty character with a smoky flavor and aroma, then aged on jalapenos for subtle pepper flavor and spiciness in the finish. The extended lagering time along with the bottle conditioning really give it a smooth mouthfeel. It comes across as extremely well balanced, despite the complex layers of flavor, and is about 7% alcohol by volume.
For those of you looking for heat, this is NOT a hot and spicy pepper beer…it's all about the mingling of flavors from the rich, bready malt, beechwood smoke, and the jalapenos. The heat/spice is subtle and complimentary, not overpowering.
It will be available on draft and 750 ml bottles at our Danville brewpub and York taproom starting Tuesday, January 5th, 2021. Bottles are $12 each and we only bottled about 20 cases. It's ready to be enjoyed now or can be cellared for future enjoyment.
Cheers and have a safe and Happy New Year!
