Tröegs Announces Art of Tröegs Winners

Tröegs Announces Art of Tröegs WinnersFrom Tröegs:

Each year, we are truly overwhelmed by the creativity of our fans when all of the Art of Tröegs submissions start rolling in. Just when we thought we’d seen it all – a custom pair of Tröegs sneakers, a Renaissance-style portrait of our founding brothers, even a miniature re-creation of our brewery populated by Smurfs – our creative fans and followers surprised us with a collection of entries we could only have dreamed about when we kicked off our Art of Tröegs contest all those years ago.

In the end, it was a custom set of Haze Charmer dice submitted by Niko Stubljar inspired by his love for the classic role playing game, Dungeons & Dragons, that won our hearts!

"What is the best way to connect with friends and family other than sharing a fresh, cold brew? Playing games, of course!" said Niko.

Consisting of seven unique muti-sided dice, Niko crafted each die using cardboard from our Haze Charmer 6-pack material, and each die is filled with hard foam. "The dice are all 100% playable for hours of fun!" said Niko. He even included a custom carrying case, designed to resemble a 12-pack of Perpetual IPA, and two Tröegs-inspired character sheets - "Haze" the Wizard and "Perpetual: The Forever Wanderer."

We were so floored by all of the amazing pieces we received that we once again decided to name two runners-up this year!

Our first runner-up, titled "Metal Troegenator," is a collaboration between Matthew Young and Kayla Bryer. (You may remember Kayla as the artist who designed the custom embroidered Tröegs denim jacket a few years ago.)

For this wickedly cool piece, Matt illustrated the Troegenator typography and constructed the frame, while Kayla dreamt up the illustration and added all of the embroidered details. The illustration is printed on linen and features lots of intricate beaded and hand-sewn embellishments. We can't wait to see this one hanging in the gallery!

Our second runner-up comes from Katelyn Dherit with her piece entitled “Your Future Looks Hazy.” Inspired by our Haze Charmer artwork, Katelyn was initially drawn to the astrology vibe of the actual beer label. "My first thoughts when seeing the official art ... led me to the idea of a fortune teller with a deck of Tröegs-themed tarot cards," Katelyn revealed. The perspective of the piece puts you in the seat at the fortune teller’s table having your tarot read. The tarot cards feature iconic Tröegs characters including the carefree Mad Elf as “The Fool" and the intense Troegenator, who represents “The Devil.” And just out of sight sits the dark JavaHead skull as the “Death” card. However, your fortune ultimately reveals Haze Charmer’s celestial logo on “The Star” card, and her crystal ball solidifies the outcome: there is haze in your future.

Congratulations to all of the winners, and a huge shoutout to everyone who got in on the art by painting, sculpting, writing, sewing, beading, cutting out or carving an original piece. We loved each and every one of them. Next time you visit our brewery, make sure to take a spin around the gallery – it overlooks the Splinter Cellar – to see first-hand just how creative Tröegs drinkers are!
