Coming to us from AleSmith, this Black Is Beautiful will be a special San Diego County mega-collaboration edition brewed with Abnormal Beer, AleSmith, Automatic Brewing, Bagby Beer, Belching Beaver, Burgeon Beer, Fall Brewing, Harland brewing, Helia brewing, Horus Aged Ales, Marea Coffee, Mason Ale Works, Modern Times Beer, North Park Beer, Original 40 Brewing, Pure Project, Resident Brewing, Second Chance Beer, SouthNorte Beer, Stave & Nail Brewing and North Park TapRoom Beer Co. This variant will be an imperial stout with cacao nibs, cinnamon, Geisha coffee and vanilla beans and it will surf in at 12.5%-AbV. Fundraising Brewing Effort Garners National Attention In Forbes Article
As breweries across the nation have banded together in widespread support of San Antonio-based Weathered Souls Brewing's "Black" Is Beautiful Initiative, a large group of San Diego county brewers have united to benefit local efforts focusing on social injustice and police brutality reform. Through the organizational work put in by AleSmith's Will Izor and Horus Aged Ales' Kyle Horrup, we are proud to announce "Black" Is Beautiful - San Diego County Mega Collaboration Edition!
For the initiative, Weathered Souls has asked participating breweries to brew an imperial stout based on a shared recipe with each brewery allowed to add their own twist to make their collaborative release as unique as they would like it to be. With many of our favorite San Diego breweries involved in this brewing effort, we had to go big! The Black" Is Beautiful - San Diego County Mega Collaboration Edition is an imperial stout that features cacao nibs, cinnamon, Geisha coffee, vanilla beans, and weighs in at 12.5% ABV.
The fun-filled collaborative brew day was hosted at AleSmith Brewing Company and we were thrilled to work with our friends at Abnormal Beer Company, Automatic Brewing, Bagby Beer Company, Belching Beaver Brewery, Burgeon Beer Company, Fall Brewing Company, Harland Brewing Company, Helia Brewing Company, Horus Aged Ales, Marea Coffee, Mason Ale Works, Modern Times Beer, North Park Beer Company, Original 40 Brewing, Pure Project, Resident Brewing Company, Second Chance Beer Company, SouthNorte Beer Co., Stave & Nail Brewing Company, and North Park TapRoom Co. We are extremely proud to announce the release of "Black" Is Beautiful - AleSmith x Weathered Souls Edition, our individual collaboration with Weathered Souls Brewing in support of their initiative aimed at raising awareness and funds towards social injustice and police reform measures.
The AleSmith x Weathered Souls Edition of "Black" Is Beautiful (10.0% ABV) is an imperial stout based on the community-shared recipe created for the initiative by Weathered Souls. It will be sold in 16oz can 4-packs as part of an onsite sale here at our Tasting Room Gift Shop starting at 12pm open of business on Saturday, July 11th with no purchase limits. 100% of net proceeds from this beer will be donated to Black Visions Collective, Campaign Zero, Innocence Project, and National Bailout.

This robust alternate version is an imperial stout that features cacao nibs, cinnamon, Geisha coffee, vanilla beans, and weighs in at 12.5% ABV. It is scheduled for release and pickup on Saturday, July 25th with proceeds being donated to San Diegans for Justice.
