Volunteers Needed to Pack 100K Meals for Hungry Children & Their Families on March 15

Asheville, NC  (March 3, 2020) The Collaboratory is teaming up with PubCorps, a local nonprofit with a mission to eliminate childhood hunger in Western North Carolina. The Collaboratory will host a special event on March 15 to benefit PubCorps and to release PubCorps Pale Ale.

Gather at the Collaboratory for a PubCorps Meal Pack event. Volunteers are needed to pack 100,000 servings of meals, which will be distributed across Western North Carolina. Starting at 10 a.m., the day will be segmented into five shifts. All day long, enjoy DJ’d tunes and collaborative craft beer. The first beer, coffee or soda is provided for volunteers. Additionally, the Collaboratory will brew a limited release beer called PubCorps Pale Ale, a 4.5% ABV hazy extra pale ale presenting a contemporary take on a classic American style. Five different hop varieties contribute grapefruit, lemon, lime and orange flavors and aroma. Hop bitterness is restrained in favor of big-time hop flavor. PubCorps Pale Ale will be available at the Collaboratory and select locations across Western Northern Carolina. A portion of proceeds from sales of PubCorps Pale Ale will benefit PubCorps.

“PubCorps is doing incredibly important work in Western North Carolina and we’re proud to be collaborating with them,” said Aaron Baker, senior marketing manager for CANarchy and Oskar Blues Brewery. “We’re stoked to see everyone at The Collaboratory later this month for a full day of giving back punctuated by raising a glass.”

According to PubCorps, one out of four children and their families in Buncombe County go to bed hungry at night. You can help provide food security to the area’s most vulnerable populations while enjoying a fresh brewed craft beer at the Collaboratory. Volunteer to pack meals on March 15 or stop in for a pint of PubCorps Pale Ale. Click here to see more ways to volunteer with PubCorps, or email questions to Aaron Baker at aaron@oskarblues.com.
