APRIL'S SPECIAL RELEASE SALE IS ARRIVING EARLY
...and it could quite literally be our most important online sale ever.As you may have noticed, things are crazy for us right now. The world has quite literally changed overnight, and, while we’re all staying in good spirits and doing everything we can to keep this place afloat, we are currently in a financial situation that we never came close to anticipating in our worst nightmare-scenarios. It’s heavy, but it’s true. The reason we’re telling you all this is to explain why we’ll be launching April’s online special release sale early. Like, really early. Beers will go live to the public on Wednesday at 10am. While this timing is weird and not ideal, we can confidently tell you that this lineup may be our most stellar one to date, and selling it early helps ensure that we have the necessary staffing to get it into your hands. Let’s talk details:
When will you get your beer?
Since a lot of this stuff is currently in the works, we’ll still be using the original pick-up dates for April’s sale: April 15th in SD/DTLA/Encinitas, and April 17th in PDX/SB/Oakland. Just like we did for the March sale, we will push back April pickup deadlines if needed.
Can we ship your special release sale purchases to you?
We aren’t able to ship you your special release orders at this time due to the volume that generally happens in these sales and our current infrastructure. We know that can be frustrating given the situation, and we promise that we’re working on it. That said, nothing right now is easy or normal, and we’re doing everything we can with the resources available to us, so please be patient and we promise to make it worth your while once we get through this.
Before we get into the lineup, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention that, in addition to being a baller-ass bunch of beers, this is the most important an online sale has ever been for us. When we say that the impact of this crisis on our business has been colossal, it is an understatement. Shuttering 7 locations overnight and watching the bar industry disappear has implications that we are still scrambling to put into context, and we are working around the clock to maintain pay and health benefits for as many of our employees as we possibly can.
We recognize that the implications of this pandemic are global, and many of you are also affected. We’re not asking you to put yourselves at risk via maxing out on everything, but we are letting you know that the better this sale goes, the better shot we have at making it through this thing at least partially intact. If that sounds a bit desperate, it’s because it is. If you’ve got some extra beer money and are looking for ways to support us, this is it, friends. The good news is that—if you are in the market for world-class libations with which to improve your social distancing experience, these are promising to be some of our most monumental liquid achievements to date.
Ok, that’s more than enough preamble. Let’s. Get. Into it. Here's a look at what's up for grabs in April's online sale:
WORDS OF RADIANCE DIPA
We tried a few new things with this tropical juggernaut, and we are extremely glad we did. For the malt bill, we added a huge dose of wheat to the malted and flaked oats, and rounded the whole thing out with a touch of honey malt for sweetness. Then, we hopped the living shit out of it with Strata, Comet, Nelson, and Sabro. The result is a straight-up magical hazy boi with notes of white grapefruit, tropical fruit, and white wine. Radiance, indeed.

FOEDER-AGED TRANSIT OF VENUS
We aged this house-favorite funky Grisette in a medium toast American oak foeder for 3.5 months, allowing it to pick up a pleasant oak nose that pairs well with the citrusy, lightly tart spritziness garnered from the brett-forward mixed cultures. It’s a beautiful marriage of oak and bright funk that we think you’re going to be exceedingly pleased with.

Format: 375ml Bottle
Price: $8.75
Total Quantity: 1,224

HEART OF THE UNIVERSE IPA (COLLAB W/ FIRESTONE WALKER BREWING CO.)
We joined forces with the beer-mages at Firestone Walker to summon this level-20 flavor beast from the most empyrean realms of dankness. Stacked with a blend of German & American hops including Mosaic, Strata, & Mandarina Bavaria and fermented with a blend of yeasts from both breweries, this hazy IPA sports notes of blood orange, tangerine, and peach milkshake, and is undeniably bomb.

Format: 4-Pack of 16oz Cans
Price: $21.50
Total Quantity: 1,800
4-Pack Limit: 18
DREAM POP W/ PEACH, ORANGE, & DOUBLE VANILLA
We began this utterly exquisite milkshake-style IPA with massive amounts of Galaxy, Citra, and Amarillo hops, followed by a generous helping of vanilla (seriously—double the amount of our last Dream Pop offering). Finally, just to be ridiculous, we added huge quantities (understatement) of peach and blood orange to create a creamy, indulgent spectacle of liquid fruit-magic.

Price: $23.75
Total Quantity: 1,500

ORDER OF HERMES
We packed this impossibly refreshing super-Berliner with pineapple, passion fruit, and dragon fruit, yielding a tropical Voltron formation of overwhelming deliciousness that could not be more perfect for hot, summer days. Prepare thy thirst to be quenched forthwith.

ABADDON (COLLAB W/ WAYFINDER)
AWWW YEAH. Brewed in collaboration with the homies at Wayfinder, this Helles lager was brewed with German malts, hopped with Perle & Hallertau Mittelfruh, and naturally carbonated for a beautifully bright, effervescent character. It’s a majestically expressive take on a traditional style that’s both balanced and jaw-droppingly crushable, and we're very excited to drink it again.
