Goose Island Releasing Final Bottles Of Bourbon County Vanilla Rye

Goose Island Releasing Final Bottles Of Bourbon County Vanilla RyeFrom Goose Island:

It is with great sadness that we must now say Goodbye to one of our most beloved beers, Bourbon County Vanilla Rye. A beer so ubiquitous that many know it simply as Vanilla Rye or VR. While this was not our first foray in vanilla stouts, it has been highly regarded as one of the best beers ever released from Goose Island and certainly the benchmark of vanilla Imperial Stouts. We aged an Imperial Stout for 1 year inside Rye Whiskey Barrels and then added whole Mexican and Madagascar vanilla beans to the barrel to capture the very essence of the bean in all its beautiful glory. After more than 5 years since the release, vanilla still shines brightly amidst the impossibly dark and rich imperial stout. The slight spice from the Rye Whiskey barrels pushes through the rich chocolate undertones to create a beautifully balanced and well-aged beer.⠀
⠀
This February we will be celebrating Vanilla Rye by releasing the very last bottles and draft of Vanilla Rye from the cellar at Goose Island Beer Co. We hope you’ll join us as we say Goodbye, Vanilla Rye at @gooseclybourn on 2/19. Details and tickets for Goodbye, Vanilla Rye, go on sale tomorrow, 2/12, at 10 a.m.:
