From Surly:
When formulating Surly’s 2020 release calendar, we had a couple choices:
- Introduce a CBD-infused, barrel-aged, hard seltzer smoothie in cans that explode if handled by a non-first-born son, or
- Make hop-forward beers with undeniable flavor and aromatics, be they clear as a bell or hazy AF.
We chose wisely. These three beers begin hitting shelves this week:
This uncomplicated, easy-drinking ale has an abundance of Citra, Simcoe, and Amarillo hops and the juicy, citrusy flavor of a haze bomb twice its size. Debuting in our 2019 Hop Pack, Rocket Surgery was an out-of-the-box hit. The decision to make this our next year-round offering …well, it wasn’t rocket surgery. Available to all Surly markets.
- ABV: 5.5%
- Hops: Citra, Simcoe, Amarillo
- Malt: 2-Row, Vienna, Unmalted Wheat, Oats
- Aromatics: Mango, Papaya, Orange
- Pour: Light Orange
- Bitterness: Low
The other breakout hit of our 2019 Hop Pack, Dots & Loops is an IPA that splits the difference between new-school hop flavors (tropical fruit, citrus) and a pleasingly bright hop bite. It’s our first seasonal release of the new year and it’s available to all Surly markets.
- ABV: 6.7%
- Hops: Amarillo, Cascade, Simcoe, Warrior (bittering)
- Malt: 2-Row, Oat Malt, Acidulated, Unmalted Wheat, Flaked Oats
- Aromatics: Orange, Pineapple, Mango
- Pour: Gold
- Bitterness: Medium
AT THE END OF THE INTERNET DDH HAZY DOUBLE IPA
No need to Google or even Ask Jeeves–it’s a double dry-hopped, hazy double IPA brewed with El Dorado, Simcoe, and Citra hops. Initially an exclusive for 2019 Darkness Day revelers, the word-of-mouth campground hit is now our first BC Small Batch release of 2020. Intensely citrusy and fruity with a pillowy finish…you know what, quit scrolling, put down your phone, and just drink the damn thing. Available to all U.S. Surly markets.
- ABV: 10%
- Hops: Citra, Simcoe, El Dorado
- Malt: 2-Row Pale, Golden Promise, Oat Malt, Unmalted Wheat, Flaked Oats
- Aromatics: All citrus everything
