Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Magic Hat Easy Miles Hazy Pale Ale (Review)

Mybeerbuzz .com Highlights Magic Hat Easy Miles Hazy Pale AleWhen I was first learning about good beer, I spent many nights skiing in Killington, VT…and I’ll always remember one brewery and at the time one beer that was in every bar.  The beer was #9 and the brewery was Magic Hat.
Jump forward over 20 years and I’m excited to test drive an all new year-round beer coming from Magic Hat.  The beer is called Easy Miles and here’s how Magic Hat describes it:
Brewers and regular humans alike know that exploring your limits can induce a great thirst that can be hard to quench with regular beers alone. It’s a non-stop, where will the next foot drop kind of op, and savoring the flavors of life is your reward. The brewers at Magic Hat realized that, sometimes, a few Easy Miles are all you need to put a little spring in your step.
Easy Miles is silky smooth thanks to wheat malt and oats, and its juicy, tropical hop notes of lemon, orange and mango come courtesy of a hopping and dry-hopping of Mosaic, Huell Melon
and Lemon Drop hops.

Of course I’ll have to try it for myself, so off we go.  Magic Hat Easy Miles pours a rich amber color with the expected hazy appearance.  The aromas hit like a typical juice-forward IPA with loads of additional citrus and a pleasant lemon nose.  The mouthfeel is really soft and drinkable thank in part to the partial wheat malt.   The flavors lead with hoppy lemon and citrus with just the right touch of grapefruit, which makes sense given the Mosaic, Huell Melon and Lemondrop hops on board.  The flavors and mouthfeel are very satisfying and at 5.2%-AbV and 32 IBU it is both sessionable and hoppy.  Overall this is a really well balanced and drinkable juicy hop-forward pale ale that I really liked.
Easy Miles is available now in 12oz six-packs of cans and it is going year-round across most of Magic Hat’s distribution footprint in Nov.  Be sure to get out there and try this beer for yourself, and when you do try it, be sure to let us know what YOU think.
