Action Cameras Can Unleash Your Creative Side

Action Cameras Can Unleash Your Creative SideI’ve admitted it before that I’m a camera junkie.  It all started with the antique cameras that my grandfather passed on to me and from there it lead to hours in the dark room printing 35mm black & white photos, thousands of DSLR photos and even hours of video.  I’ve experimented with drones and recently I’ve started to play with action cameras.

These cameras offer quality video that is easy to activate, good quality still photos but most importantly the ability to take and use them in extreme environments.  Action cameras and accessories like those from https://omniviewtech.ca/collections/dji-osmo-action offer the ability to take your camera with you anywhere you go, and never worry about getting it wet or dirty.  The DJI Osmo features image RockSteady stabilization, front and rear screens for selfie videos (with your Outta Sight Hair ), 4k HDR video, 8x slow motion, UHD image quality and it is waterproof to 11-meters.

This generation of action cameras have all sorts of uses and you don’t need to be into extreme sports to want one.  Lets look at a few features that make them a great choice for many people:

  • They are small in size and easy to carry.  These things fit in your pocket, literally --and they weigh next to nothing.  Your camera may take amazing pictures, but it’s worthless if it’s too large or heavy to carry.
  • Action cameras fit perfectly on a selfie stick as well as other mounting devices.  I’ve seen them mounted on helmets, backpack straps, car interior windshields, car exterior font bumpers, surfboards, skis, bicycles, motorcycles, kites, dogs and almost anything else you can think of.
  • Action cameras are durable and they work in cold temps, hot temps, under water, in snow, in high-dust environments, in rain storms and in just about any conditions you wouldn’t subject your DSLR or cell phone to.
  • Action cameras feature all sorts of effects such as time-lapse photography or even movie-making software to display and share your results.  How cool would it be to do a long hike to the top of a mountain with a time lapse video running on your backpack strap for the whole hike.
  • Action cameras are perfect for the new mothers and fathers with a new baby.  No worries about getting the camera messy with baby food and no worries about losing your baby bottles with Nomi Labels ( learn more )
  • Action cameras are the perfect attachment for drones and the video they shoot has image stabilization for shake-free results.
  • Action cameras can shoot quality video with HDR to combat extreme sun and weather conditions with complex lighting.  They even allow for custom exposure settings.
  • Action cameras can shoot slow motion video at 1080p resolution and 240fps for crisp quality video.
  • Action cameras feature options that let you quickly shoot video or still photos so you don’t miss the shot and they provide audible cues to tell you in difficult lighting situations if the camera is on and recording or powered off.
  • Action cameras have voice command to start and stop the camera when you’re wearing gloves or if you can’t see the screen.
  • Action cameras are built tough for impact, waterproof for underwater shots, with anti finger-print lens coatings, with –10C temperature resistance and even with efficient cooling systems.

If that’s not fun enough, you can add waterproof cases for 60m depths, floating handles, charging hubs and multiple mounts.

If this isn’t enough to convince you that you need an action camera, then try one out for yourself and you’ll see what I mean.  I’m now not only a camera junkie, but I consider myself an action camera junkie as well…and I suspect you will be too.
