Surly Grapefruit Supreme Coming 6/17

Surly Grapefruit Supreme Coming 6/17From Surly:

With certain beers, you just know.

Surly wanted to brew a fruit-forward, lower-ABV beer for its second variety pack of 2019. It would be in market when spring started turning to summer and would be an ideal complement to the warmer weather.

Many of our brewers are fans of German radlers, the oldest of old-school, fruit-forward, low-ABV drinks, which mix lager and grapefruit soda. As much as we love Squirt, we don’t make soda (Minnesotans—replace “soda” with “pop” as you’re reading this if it helps you get your bearings). Instead, we piloted a tart ale brewed with grapefruit, and from the first sip of what would become Grapefruit Supreme, we just knew. This was going to be a thing.

Although our instincts about warmer weather were the wrongest thing in Wrongtown, we were spot on with the beer. Grapefruit Supreme proved to be as big a hit outside the brewery walls as it was within.

That’s why we’re pleased to announce that you can now buy a standalone six-pack of Grapefruit Supreme beginning the week of June 17th as our latest seasonal offering.

Braced by bright grapefruit flavor and offset by a gentle tartness, Grapefruit Supreme finishes crisp and citrusy. The 4.5% ABV makes it effortlessly sessionable, and the refreshing character is even more welcome now that it occasionally gets hot outside. For those of you with a h*rd s*ltz*r enthusiast in your life, this will turn their head all the way around.

Grapefruit Supreme is available to all Surly markets, and its reign will last throughout the summer.

(Word to the wise: More than a few Surly employees have been using it as a mixer for cocktails, and it turns out you can make one hell of a paloma with it, along with any number of drinks that call for a grapefruit element.)
