February 28, 2019 – Kansas City, MO – Over the last 30 years, Boulevard Brewing Company has grown to become the largest specialty brewer in the Midwest, developing a national reputation for quality and cutting edge innovation. After three decades, the entrepreneurial spirit still burns bright: the brewer today announced the creation of Boulevard Beverage Company, and the launch of Fling Craft Cocktails, its first foray outside of craft beer.
The all-natural, ready-to-drink cocktails will initially be offered in four low-cal, low-carb varieties, each packaged in 4-packs of colorful 12-ounce cans. They include a Blood Orange Vodka Soda, a Cucumber Lime Gin and Tonic, a Margarita and a Mai Tai.
“Our little side hustle started as an interesting diversion, but it’s taken on a life of its own,” said Boulevard president Jeff Krum. “While we’ll always remain first and foremost a craft brewer, sometimes you just want something different. We have the facilities and the equipment and the talent to make all kinds of interesting and delicious beverages, and we’re excited by the opportunity to give consumers more choices, to go where they go. Plus, we’re having more fun than is probably legal.”Fling will debut at Kauffman Stadium for the Kansas City Royals’ opening day on March 28. Regional distribution will begin in early April, with national expansion occurring throughout 2019.
