STELLA ARTOIS CELEBRATES THE FILMS AND FILMMAKERS SHAPING CULTURE AT THE 2019 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL
“Stella’s Film Lounge” Will Be The Hottest Place on Main Street to Experience Panels, Cast Celebrations And More Featuring The Festival’s Most Anticipated Films
SALT LAKE CITY, UT – January 23, 2019 – Stella Artois, the official beer of the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, invites Festival goers to visit “Stella’s Film Lounge” to be part of thought-provoking conversations and celebrations around this year’s most buzzed about films, provocative cultural topics and female-driven projects. During select hours throughout opening weekend attendees can also stop by the lounge, located at 364 Main Street, to enjoy a crisp Stella Artois or Cidre Hot Toddy.
“We are proud to be back in Park City connecting Stella Artois to the moments that matter in culture,” said Lara Krug, Vice President, Stella Artois. “Sundance is the ultimate incubator for the next generation of filmmakers, which is why it’s so exciting for us to be here supporting films that have the potential to impact culture and truly reshape the industry.”
Throughout the weekend, some of the Festival’s most well-known casts will join a series of live panels livestreamed on Deadline.com that provide an inside look at this year’s hottest films, including “To The Stars,” “Late Night,” “Clemency,” “Them That Follow,” and “Fighting With My Family.” Stella Artois will also toast to the most talked about casts and crews at VIP evening celebrations with surprise performances, including “Paradise Hills,” “The Sound of Silence,’ “I Am Mother,” “Judy & Punch,” “Little Monsters,” “David Crosby: Remember My Name” and “Wu-Tang Clan: Of Mics and Men.”
Additionally, as part of its ongoing partnership with Women In Film, the brand will reaffirm its support of female filmmakers who are helping to push forward the mission for inclusion and gender parity. This will include honoring the up-and-coming filmmaker recipients of the second annual Stella Artois-funded Film Finishing Fund grants, who have each received a $25,000 grant for fiction and documentary films by women that inspire social change. A special live panel will also shine a spotlight on ReFrame, a coalition of industry professionals and partner companies founded by Women In Film and Sundance Institute whose mission is to increase the number of women of all backgrounds working in film, TV and media. The panel will show how ReFrame Stamp award-winning producers and directors achieved gender parity on their productions.
“Stella’s support of the Women In Film, Film Finishing Program has expanded our capacity to support female filmmakers who are telling stories about some of the society’s most pressing issues,” said Women In Film Executive Director Kirsten Schaffer. “Now more than ever, women’s voices are being heard and our stories are resonating with audiences.”
