Fat Head’s Announces 2019 Release Calendar

Fat Head’s Announces 2019 Release CalendarFrom Fat Heads:

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH  January 2, 2019—Fat Head’s Brewery released its 2019 Beer Calendar, its first annual slate since moving into its new Middleburg Heights facility.  The increased capacity and new equipment that accompanied and followed the July relocation to Engle Lake Drive is empowering the brewery to introduce more new beers and new packages than in any other year prior.

Flagship Head Hunter IPA which enjoyed a stellar year following its switch from 4pk to 6pk continues to headline the year-round range.  Bumble Berry Honey Blueberry Ale and Sunshine Daydream Session IPA return as expected, but with an exciting new twist for both – Bumble will add 15pk cans in addition to its familiar 6pk bottles; Sunshine will move exclusively to 15pk cans (and draft).  Both of the new 15pks should roll into the market before the end of February.

Two new beers will be joining the year-round lineup as well: Starlight Lager, a traditional German-style lager that served as a summer seasonal offering in 2018, and a brand-new – yet to be announced beer – that is slated to debut in early spring.  Starlight becomes a full-time team member following the warm consumer response it received this past summer and will be available in 6pk cans and draft.  All that is being shared at this point in time about the new brew is that it will certainly be something ‘magical.’

On the seasonal release front, an exceptional amount of pride is being taken with the first quarter seasonal 6pk (and draft) release, a collaboration with Oregon’s renowned former GABF Brewery of the Year, Barley Brown’s.  Working closely with their Brewmaster, Eli Dickison, Fat Head’s co-owner/Master Brewer Matt Cole and the rest of the brew staff developed Special Hoperations, a 6.5%/65 IBU India Pale Ale – a portion of its sales will be donated to Honor Flight.  This extraordinary non-profit organization supports U.S. military veterans, transporting them to visit the memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifices of themselves and their friends.

The benefits of increased capacity and new packaging options are nowhere more noticeable than with ‘holy grail’ brew Hop Juju Imperial IPA.  Traditionally released only once a year – in February in 4pk bottles – Juju will now be available four times throughout the year – in February, June, September and December – and will christen the brewery’s new canning line as a 4pk can offering.

Previous draft-only releases joining the seasonal calendar this year include Benjamin Danklin IPA and long-time North Olmsted brewpub favorites, Bean Me Up Imperial Coffee Ale, Sorcerer Belgian-style Dark Ale and Zeus Juice Belgian-style Strong Ale.  In addition, long-time draft-only favorite Goggle Fogger Hefe-weizen will receive a trial-run in 6pk cans from late spring through the end of summer.
