From River North:
This Saturday December 8th, River North Brewery will unveil its most ambitious beer to date, Barrel Aged Double Avarice.
A true double-strength version of the brewery’s barrel-aged Belgian-style imperial stout, this beast clocks in at a whopping 19.46% ABV, making it the most potent release in River North’s history.
Remarkably, the boundary-pushing brew still maintains a silky mouthfeel and smooth finish, thanks to the brewery’s original Belgian yeast strain, which helps to keep the beer dry even at such extreme gravity. Aging in 100% Colorado bourbon barrels adds further complexity, rounding out the beer with notes of oak and spirit.
In addition, the brewery will release the 2018 vintage of Barrel Aged Avarice, a perennial favorite on which the double version is based – classic Barrel Aged Avarice comes in at 11.5% ABV.
Both versions will be available on tap and in bottles to go when the brewery opens at Noon on Saturday and make ideal stocking stuffers for your favorite beer aficionado. Snag bottles of 2018 Barrel Aged Avarice for $10 each, and up to a full case of Barrel Aged Double Avarice at $15 per bottle. The bottle limit will be reduced for the last few available cases, so all partygoers will have a chance for at least one bottle.
While bottles of 2018 Barrel Aged Avarice will ship to select Colorado stores following the release, availability of Barrel Aged Double Avarice will be fleeting. As with almost all River North’s barrel-aged releases, both beers will age gracefully for years to come.
As independent Denver brewers established in 2012, River North Brewery crafts #AdventureFuel only available in Colorado, with a full lineup of crushable cans and cellar-worthy bottles. Like the brewery at facebook.com/rivernorthbrewery or follow and tag @rivernorthbrew on Twitter and Instagram.
