From the Oregon Brewers Guild:
The Oregon Brewers Guild, one of the nation’s oldest craft brewers associations, announced today that Executive Director Brian Butenschoen has departed his role at the OBG.
“As Executive Director of the Oregon Brewers Guild for more than a decade, Brian Butenschoen did a lot of great work promoting and defending the Oregon brewing industry,” said Dan Engler, OBG President and Brewmaster and Proprietor of Occidental Brewing. “While the Guild and Brian have decided it was time to go our separate ways, we thank Brian for his years of service and wish him the best with his future endeavors.”
The Board has begun the search for a new Executive Director and looks forward to the Guild’s next chapter, with a focus on bringing value to members in today’s rapidly changing landscape.
Added Engler, “We are looking for someone with non-profit management experience, as well as a passion for independent Oregon beer. More than ever, the Guild’s mission of promoting Oregon craft beer, acting as an educational resource for consumers and brewers alike, and helping brewers face legislative and regulatory challenges by representing them in Salem, Washington, and at the OLCC, is critical to maintaining a robust industry.”
The Guild remains committed to providing the range of legislative, promotional, educational and networking opportunities that are familiar to OBG members, including our annual meeting, Zwickelmania, and the Brew-Ha guide to name a few, while adding new efforts and resources to engage our membership and help them meet future challenges.
Since 1992, the Oregon Brewers Guild has represented independent Oregon Brewers. Today, the Guild is stronger than ever wth 174 brewery members and over 130 associate members. We look forward to another 25 years of uniting our members in the common cause of maintaining Oregon’s mantle as the best beer state in the nation.
