Treadwell Park West Will Bring Expertly Curated Brews with Complementary Cuisine

to the Growing Hudson Yards North Neighborhood

September 24, 2018 (Manhattan, NY) – Merchants Hospitality is pleased to announce today’s opening of Treadwell Park West, the third iteration of New York City’s premier beer destination. Part lively neighborhood hangout, part beer mecca, the 200-seat bar and restaurant, located north of Hudson Yards at 508 W. 42nd Street, offers visitors a bright and airy, design-driven space featuring communal tables, games, a photobooth, and an extensive rotating list of international and domestic beers that pair perfectly with a menu of comfort foods.

“We’re thrilled to share the Treadwell Park experience with this ever-changing and exciting neighborhood”, notes Abraham Merchant, CEO of Merchants Hospitality. “In addition to our neighbors here, the energy and entertainment of the area, combined with the convenience of major subway lines and transportation hubs, allow guests to come visit us from all over the city and the world.”

At Treadwell Park West, renowned Cicerone and Beverage Director Anne Becerra balances new American craft options with a heavy selection of Old-World classics and under-the-radar imports that rotate regularly.  The 20 craft draught beers and ciders range from hyper local NYC options to Belgian classics, as well as esoteric styles from Japan, Italy, Scandinavia and beyond. An on-site state of the art flux capacitor ensures perfect pours each time by controlling the exact gas blend of nitrogen and carbon dioxide for each beer style.

The space itself incorporates beer history and education through artifacts and images in a private room called the “Tasting Room”, that serves as an ode to women’s contributions to beer throughout history. There are nods to everyone from Ninkasi and Hildegard of Bingen to Carol Stoudt, Dominique Friart, and so many more. The room is available by invitation only.

A new cocktail menu draws inspiration from different beer styles such as a libation that mirrors the flavors of a classic German Lichtenhainer (a smoked sour wheat beer) made with mezcal, fresh lime juice and grapefruit bitters.

Chef Antelmo Ambrosio serves favorites from an in-house smoker such as crispy wings, brisket reuben and pulled pork nachos.  The Treadwell Park menu also includes lighter, seasonal options, including a warm kale and farro grain bowl and cedar-planked salmon.  The signature giant soft pretzel is also not to be missed. The entire menu is created to complement a variety of beers to further enhance the dining experience. The highly knowledgeable and friendly staff is more than happy to help with pairing suggestions.

The space is designed by Corbin Plays, the same creative force behind both Upper East Side and Downtown locations of Treadwell Park, who has curated spaces at The Bowery Hotel, The Jane Hotel and The John Dory Oyster Bar. Upon entry through folding floor-to-ceiling glass doors allowing in abundant natural light, the space is bright; composed of whitewashed brick walls complemented by rich wood slat paneling below.  A welcoming horseshoe-shaped bar of oil-stained oak with a rough sawn salvaged wood façade anchors the space, which is surrounded by hearty, reclaimed wood tables made from Black Ofram logs sourced from a bog in Africa. Metal accents on soffits and wainscoting, along with custom string light fixtures undulating throughout, create a palate of rich textural materials presented in a straightforward and comfortable manner.

The cheerful and interactive atmosphere of Treadwell Park West continues with ping pong tables, pinball games, a photobooth, complimentary popcorn and a rotating selection of board games.
