Rainier Brewing Releases Rainier PCT IPAFrom Rainier:

SEATTLE – Rainier Brewing Company has been brewing mountain fresh beers since 1878, and in August the brewer is releasing a new year-round offering called Rainier PCT IPA.

This hop-forward, highly drinkable beer made with Comet, El Dorado and Azacca hops is brewed to celebrate 50 years of the Pacific Crest Trail. Rainier will donate twenty-five cents per case, up to $10,000, to support the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA) to help maintain the trail and preserve it for future generations.

“The Pacific Crest Trail is a national treasure and captures the essence of outdoor recreation in the Northwest,” said Rainier Brand Manager, Michael Scott. “We want to do our part to take care of and support the trail, and the organization, that brings so much joy to those in our region.”

“We are so incredibly thankful for Rainier Beer’s support of the PCTA,” added Pacific Crest Trail Association Director of Philanthropy, Angie Williamson. “With partners like Rainier, we are able to bring awareness to our mission across the region helping us preserve this trail for another 50 years and beyond.”

Rainier PCT IPA will be available starting in August in Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. This new brew has an ABV of 4.5%, 45 IBUs and is available in stores in six-packs of 12-ounce cans. It is also available at your favorite bars and restaurants across the region.

About Rainier

Rainier Brewing Company (originally Seattle Malting and Brewing Company) has been brewing authentic and mountain fresh beers since 1878.  It was once the largest brewery West of the Mississippi. In 1954, the iconic Rainier “R” was raised on top of the company’s brewery in Seattle, WA, cementing the brand as a regional powerhouse, known to this day for its great-tasting beer, innovative packaging, baseball, fun commercials, and meaningful partnerships with local charities. Through Rainier’s Tabs for Trees program, more than 100,000 trees have been planted since 2014 in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. Rainier can be found in stores, restaurants, and bars throughout the West. About Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA)

The Pacific Crest Trail was designated as a National Scenic Trail in 1968 and is a unique recreational and educational treasure—as well as one of the most well-known trails in the world. The PCT showcases the West’s most spectacular wilderness and spans 2,650 miles between Mexico and Canada through California, Oregon and Washington. Formed in 1977 with a merger of the Pacific Crest Trail Conference and the Pacific Crest Club, the Pacific Crest Trail Association is the only organization tasked with managing the PCT. The PCTA’s mission is to protect, preserve and promote the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as a world-class experience for hikers and equestrians, and for all the values provided by wild and scenic lands.
