From Firestone Walker:
Paso Robles, CA : Inspired by bootleggers and driven by demand, 805 is set to expand into Colorado starting on August 5.
“Colorado is an excellent market and the people here know beer,” said David Macon, 805’s VP of sales and marketing. “Demand for 805 has been growing in Colorado, and it seemed appropriate to finally bring it to the people on 8/05 day.”
805 will launch with multiple formats in Colorado: draft; six- and 12-pack bottles; and 16- and 24-ounce cans. Distribution will be handled by Breakthru Beverage (Denver), Rocky Mountain Coors (Colorado Springs), High Country Beverage (Northern Colorado), and A&L Coors (Durango). Additional areas of Colorado will see 805 distribution starting in October.
805 is a refreshing blonde ale made by Firestone Walker Brewing Company. Subtle malt sweetness is balanced by a touch of hops, creating a versatile beer with a clean finish. 805 embodies a coastal California mindset that can be lived anywhere.
805 was first brewed in 2012 to serve the tri-counties area of California’s Central Coast. Within three years, however, it grew to become a top 25 national craft beer brand—despite the fact that it was still only distributed in California.
Since then, 805 has begun to cross state lines. Colorado now becomes the 11th state in which the beer is distributed.
“This beer was originally intended for just the Central Coast, but then people started bootlegging it out of the area and word got out,” said Troy Powell, 805 brand director. “We have been trying to keep up with demand ever since.”
He added, “805 transcends beer—it is a way of life that aligns perfectly with Colorado, where people respect the outdoors and like to get after it.”
